"We need a new government for a new century -- humble enough not to try to solve all our problems for us, but strong enough to give us the tools to solve our problems for ourselves; a government that is smaller, lives within its means, and does more with less."
- Bill Clinton, 1/20/1997
Under the Bush administration the federal deficit has been expanding and an alarming rate and jeopardizing our country's future. Personal freedoms have come under attack including freedom of lifestyle, choice, and privacy. The Democratic Freedom Caucus is a moderate group that is dedicated to simplifying government and our taxation system, and preserving the individual freedom that our country was founded upon.
We support the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights, which defines individual liberty and constitutional limits on government. The DFC wishes to build upon the successes of the Clinton administration and advocates progressive, freedom-oriented policies, which emphasize: promoting the public interest rather than showing favoritism to special interests; building-in incentives for improving the quality and efficiency of public services; and upholding civil liberties.
